I have recently been doing some work looking at the Bitdefender multi platform architecture, essentially it allows you to offload the AV scanning from the VMs to scanning appliances in a similar way to vShield Edge.

Below you can see the doodle I have put together and also a short video runing you through the architecture.

VMware have released Horizon Workspace 1.8.2 in the last few days, why is this important you may ask since Workspace 2.0 is now available?

Horizon Workspace is the required version of Workspace to allow you to upgrade your current infrastructure to 2.0, before completing this upgrade you should be aware that Horizon Data has been discontinued from this release in favour of the AirWatch Secure Content Locker. So if you are using Horizon Data, don’t complete the upgrade at this time and look to understand the special offers and ways to migrate data to AirWatch SCC.

Full details on the upgrade can be found here

Here is my doodle, more info to follow

Today was the final day of BriForum taking place in London, today was much of the same with several technical sessions and the Atlantis ILO vendor sessions. I really enjoyed the Atlantis session it was technical and had two great presenters, I have already worked Atlantis a little but plan on digging into this a bit further moving forward. The technical sessions were brilliant as ever and credit to Shawn Bass I think he was presenting alongside others in at least 3 sessions today.

I also attended a session presented by Daniel Bolton of Kingston University discussing their move from Quest vWorkspace to physical PCs and VMware Mirage. This was a great session and Daniel was a great presenter explaining the thoughts and reasoning to the move and how Mirage met there needs. I am a big fan of Mirage and it was great to here another customer experience.

Once again my doodles have gone down well on twitter, so much so that Brian Madden gave me a shoutout in his end of conference sum up, which was much appreciated. I generally do these as a reference point for my self to remember what my key take aways were, but it am glad others fine them useful. I will certainly be keeping this up at future conferences.

Today’s doodles can be seen below

Dell Enterprise Forum EMEA 2014 was a fantastic event for me and what stood out once again was the access to the Dell Executives and the ability to attend the NDA sessions and learn the direction of the industry and Dell in general.

I was amazed how well my simple doodles went down on social media and discussing with people at the event, so below is my final thoughts.

I have lots of blog posts planned now following the event and over the coming weeks will be working with several people at Dell to put some content together.
